A-Z of Animal Poems | by peter cain May 15, 2012 | $2.99 | 3963 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: Captain Peter Cain (born 1954) spent all his childhood years living in a small village called Buxworth which is situated in the hills of the Peak District in North Derbyshire. At the age of 20, he broke away from village life to become a Redcoat Entertainer at the Butlins Holiday Centre in Ayr, Scotland. From there he advanced from being a bingo caller and then manager to sales executive for a cleaning firm before finally owning his own business which he eventually sold. He aimed for a complete 'life change' and went through the process of becoming a professional boat skipper. He sailed around to Portugal and settled in the beautiful tourist locality of Lagos, which is situated in the west of the Algarve. He has worked in the region as a skipper on various tourist boats during the summer seasons since 2000. When he was in his early 30’s, having always shown an interest in writing, he was a whisker away from having some of his work accepted for TV. Until recently his work commitments prevented him from further pursuing his love of writing and poetry, but now has time to return to his favourite pastime. His first book, which has been published through Kindle is called 'Percy the Parrot - and Other Pet Subjects', which is based on the African Grey parrot Peter once owned and also in the book are some of his many other humorous encounters with various creatures ranging from mice to elephants. To add to this, his new book 'A Sign of the Rhymes' which was released on March 1st 2012 contains humorous rhymes, 'Puzzling Poems' and a concept he has named 'Re-versing Rhyme', an interesting take on poetry. Peter has just finished writing a follow up to his first book which is entitled 'Percy the Parrot 2, the bird's perspective''. A light hearted fictional account of events as experienced by 'Percy'. The book is also now available through Kindle publishing. Peter is presently in the process of writing more poetry and rhymes with an illustrated children's 'A-Z of Animal Poems'. |

Dreaming of Kittyland | by D.C. Blackbird Jan. 27, 2012 | $0.99 | 1344 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: D.C. Blackbird is an American poet, songwriter, and author, along with being a world-renowned adventurer and traveler to places that stamp passports with bark and tree sap. In case you never heard, D.C. is one of the world's greatest feather & leaf jugglers and has performed this great skill before Royal Courts throughout Europe as well as in diners throughout New Jersey between snacking on corn muffins. You probably know that D.C. is the best-selling author of titles that include: Jekyll Says … (Good Deeds Cats Do, That You Should, To!), Jekyll Says More! (Lessons & Trends For Felines & Friends), and Dreaming of Kittyland, but there is more to this remarkable human being, so please don’t just judge D.C. by the pretty words. Blackbird is one of “those vegans†you have probably heard about and maybe you have even seen hanging out at health stores ordering wheat grass juice. But don’t worry! D.C. does not glow in the dark (except after drinking grape juice), but veganism IS contagious. You have been warned. Oh, yeah, and D.C. is also one of those animal-loving folks that cares for dogs, cats, birds, and runs into traffic with a cardboard box to save turtles in the middle of the road. If you ask nicely, D.C. Blackbird may be available to come to your home for Roasted Tempeh and Marzipan treats. But the main stuff you are interested in is that D.C. is dedicated to telling stories about awesome experiences and adventures with cool earthlings around the world, and teaching readers to be compassionate to all living beings, while promoting and encouraging goodness, civic virtues, high principles, and values. |
